  • Prefer Matke ka Pani (Water stored in clay/earthen pots)

Matke Ka Pani has a natural cooling effect which is gentle for the throat and can be easily consumed by people even if suffering from a cold or cough, while cold water from a refrigerator can cause itchiness and sore throat. • Take a Lukewarm Shower to Stay Cool

While it may sound weird, studies suggest that taking a lukewarm shower in hot weather cools you down faster and is the most effective way to feel less hot. This is because when you take a lukewarm shower, the warm sensation on the skin will lead to increased blood flow to the skin, thereby increasing heat loss from the body which ultimately cools you down. Though it seems warm at first, it will provide better comfort and keeps you cool in the long term. While cold showers might seem a good immediate choice to cool off but in fact, they can make you feel even hotter within a few minutes.

  • Schedule Outdoor Activities to the Cooler Hours of the Day

Try to stay indoors as much as you can. But if you work outside, schedule your outdoor work to the cooler hours of the day.
