Kerala backwater constitute a unique system where freshwaters of the rivers confluence with the azure blue waters for the Arabian Sea. Our six days long Kerala backwaters tour will cover six major segments of Kerala backwaters tour as follows:

Detailed Day Wise Itinerary - Kerala Backwaters

  • Day 01 : Cochin

    Kollam Backwaters

    On arrival at Cochin Airport you will meet our Airport representative. Later proceed to Fort Cochin or Ernakulam City. Cochin has been divided into 3 Parts namely Fort Cochin (Historical Town), Willington Island (Man-made Island) and Ernakulam (New City). On arrival check in to your pre-booked hotel. Afternoon you can proceed to cover the Historical Town, that is sightseeing at Fort Cochin covering Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace, Chinese fishing nets, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica & then Ernakulam city including M G Road, Marine Drive, Broadway market and the Famous Shiva Temple. Evening you have an option to enjoy Kerala Traditional Art form “Kathakali dance” OR you may go for shopping at the famous LuLu International Mall, the largest shopping Mall in India that contains more than 200 outlets, including restaurants, food courts, entertainment area, bowling alley etc. Overnight stay at Hotel.

  • Day 02 : Cochin – Alleppey

    Alleppey

    After breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Alleppey, which is also called as Alappuzha - “The Venice of the East”. Alleppey is a land of beautiful backwaters. This place also has got a small Town, a Beautiful Old Light House and Beach. Alleppey is a great option to explore the natural beauty of the villages. On arrival at Alleppey you will embark the traditional “Kettuvallam” Houseboat at 12:00hrs from the boat jetty and start the cruise through the narrow canals and lakes. In this cruise, you can see the bridges, Canals, Temples, Churches, Paddy field, Day to day life on the village people, traditional red tiled Houses. Afternoon boat crew member will serve the traditional lunch with Karimeen fry (Pearl spot Fish Fry) in the boat and evening crew will provide Tea/ Coffee and Kerala snacks like Banana fry. Evening at 5:30pm boat will anchor for night halt at any quiet village or paddy field area, as after 5:30 pm local people will put net in the water for fishing, so we cannot move the boat. In the night, dinner will be served in the boat. Over night stay at Houseboat. Next day morning at 8 am boat will start cruising again. After breakfast at 9:00am boat will transfer you at Alleppey boat jetty.

  • Day 03 : Alleppey – Kovalam

     Kuttanad Backwaters

    After breakfast check out from the Houseboat at Alleppey jetty where your driver will pick you up and proceed to Kovalam “The Paradise of Beach”. Kovalam is a relaxing beach destination. We can see different beach named Light House Beach, Howah Beach, Shangumugam beach. Apart from the beach this place is a good option for Ayurveda massage too. On arrival, check in to hotel and relax. Evening you can walk around the beach side. Overnight stay at hotel.

  • Day 04 : Kovalam -Trivandrum – Kovalam

    Kumarakom Backwaters

    After breakfast start the sightseeing tour to Trivandrum City “The Capital of Kerala” you can explore the famous Padmanabha swami Temple, Kuthiramalaika (Horse Palace). Like Cochin, in Trivandrum also we can see MG Road (Mahatma Gandhi Road). After covering MG Road, you can proceed to Napier Museum, Art Gallery & Zoo. Afternoon you have an option to taste local cuisine in Trivandrum city, later drive back to Kovalam hotel, evening option to visit Shangumugam Beach (Public beach) overnight stay at Hotel.

  • Day 05 : Kovalam – Kumarakom

    Kasargod Backwater

    After breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Kumarakom. It’s another backwater relaxing destination, we can see the large backwater of the Vembanadu Lake and Thannermukkom Bund. (Salt Water Barrier) it is the largest mud regulator in India. On arrival check in to Hotel and relax, evening option for Motorboat or Canoe ride in the Lake. Overnight stay at Hotel.

  • Day 06 : Kumarakom Sightseeing Tour And Kottayam Town Visit

    Kozhikode Backwaters

    After breakfast start sightseeing tour covering Kumarakom Bird sanctuary (Known as Vembanadu Bird sanctuary) which is a favorite hangout place for migratory birds. Later visit Bay Island, Drift Wood Museum (a unique collection of driftwood sculptures) later if you have time, proceed to Kottayam town which is just 30 minutes’ drive from Kumarakom. We can see the old church called as Holy Virgin Mary Church (Valiyapally) & St. Mary’s Orthodox Syrian Church (Cheriyapally). Later if you are interested you have an option for shopping at Kottayam town and evening back to Kumarakom, overnight stay at Hotel.

  • Day 07 : Kumarakom – Cochin Departure

    Kozhikode Backwaters

    After your early breakfast, drive back to Cochin for your departure. You will be transferred to Cochin airport for your onward journey back home.
