Trivandrum Zoo and Museum, located in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is one of the oldest zoos in India which was established by the erstwhile King of Travancore, Maharaja Swati Thirunal in the year 1857 with the joint efforts of former Director of Thiruvananthapuram Observatory, Mr J.A. Brown, and General Cullen who was the former British Resident.
