Trivandrum - Kowdiar Palace

Trivandrum - Kowdiar Palace

Kowdiar Palace was built by Maharajah Sree Chithira Thirunal in the year 1934 and he gifted it to the Sethu Parvati Bayi who was once the Junior Rani of Attingal under the Senior Rani, Sethu Lakshmi Bayi. The Kowdiar Palace is one of the grandest and the beautiful palaces in Kerala. This historically important palace is one of the most significant heritage structures in Trivandrum. The Palace is built in a serene and picturesque environment and is the official residence of the Travancore Royal Family. The hybrid architecture of the Kowdiar Palace, which is a fusion of Kerala and Dravidian styles is amazing. This massive Palace has 150 rooms, wooden lift, and 6 steeples. This palace is truly a visual treat for everyone.
