Thrissur - Nehru Park

Nehru Park

Named after the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the Nehru Park in Thrissur is a children's park mainly built to entertain children. The Nehru Park is owned by the Municipal Corporation of Thrissur. This Park was inaugurated in the year 1959 by the first Vice President of India, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. This children's park was named after Nehru as an honor to him because he loves children very much. The major crowd pleaser of the park is the 16 feet high statue of an elephant which is made with steel. There is an aquarium inside the park with a variety of fishes which attracts both the children and elders.
