Kollengode Palace

Kollengode Palace is a prominent heritage museum situated in the Thrissur district of Kerala. Originally constructed in 1904 by Vasudeva Raja, the last ruler of Kollengode, the palace was gifted to his daughter. Interestingly, the original Kollengode palace (Kalari Kovilakam) is situated in neighbouring Palakkad. In 1975, the Department of Archaeology acquired the property and converted it into an archaeological museum. This transformation marked a new chapter in the palace's history, turning it into a centre of cultural preservation and education.

Kollengode Palace is a mesmerizing amalgamation of traditional Kerala architecture and Western design influences. The grandeur of the palace is evident in its Italian marble floors and intricately designed tiles imported from England.
