Guruvayoor Sree Krishna Temple is considered as the "Dwaraka of the south" is the most esteemed and popular pilgrimage destination in Kerala. Lord Vishnu in his incarnation as Lord Krishna is the main deity of this temple. And the deity is fondly called by his worshippers as Guruvayurappan. The classic extravagant architecture of the temple is outstanding. The Temple has a square shaped Sree Kovil where the idol of Sree Krishna is placed which is adorned with a pearl necklace and holy Tulasi garland every morning. This temple is visited by a large number of Hindu devotees from both abroad and within the country to seek the blessings of Guruvayurappan.
