Chavakkad Beach is a wonderful and picturesque seaside picnic spot for beach bums, picnickers and honeymoon couples. One can catch a glimpse of the confluence of river and sea, known as estuary which is locally called as Azhimukham, at this beach. To observe this delightful phenomenon, quite a number of visitors throng to the Chavakkad Beach. The lighthouse near the beach also attracts the visitors. The Ramachapadam, a vast farmland of the Ayurvedic herb, Ramacham can be seen on the other side of the beach. A lot of migratory birds can be spotted at this beach; hence it is a haven for bird watchers.
