Brahminy kite, ergret, waterfowl, cuckoo, darter, and owl are some of the resident birds of Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Apart from this, more than 60 species of migratory birds from the Himalayas and Siberia reach here during the migratory season. Among them, the Siberian crane is the most famous.
