Kumarakom - Bay Island Driftwood Museum

Kumarakom - Bay Island Driftwood Museum

Renowned for deploying advanced contemporary art techniques in order to design various kinds of root and tree-trunk sculptures, the Bay Island Driftwood Museum is a unique creation frequented by art lovers. This museum is established by Mrs. Raji Punnoose and she was a school-teacher in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The museum houses a rare variety of driftwood articles which are made from driftwood including trunks of the trees, roots, stumps, etc. And these articles resemble birds, animals, fishes, reptiles and amphibians. Being the only Driftwood Museum of India, the Bay Island Driftwood Museum has been listed in the Limca Books of Records in the year 2010.
