Thali Temple is one of the oldest temples and the popular pilgrim centre in Kozhikode. It was built by the then reigning Zamorin of Calicut, Swami Thirumulpad in the 14th century. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is well-known for its annual cultural and intellectual seven-day event, Revathy Pattathanam which falls on the Malayalam month of Thulam. The Thali Temple in Kozhikode is a veritable architectural marvel, built in typical Kerala style of architecture and is made up of wood and laterite. The wooden roof of the temple is decorated with elaborate brass carvings which are a remarkable feature of the temple.
