Bekal - Nityanandashram Caves

Bekal - Nityanandashram Caves

The Nityanandashram Caves is a holy monastery built by the sage Swami Nityanand. Located on a hillock, this place was a part of a forest area where Swami Nityanand constructed 44 caves on a mountain slope. These caves are considered to be an architectural wonder which attracts hundreds and thousands of tourists from all over the world. On the top of the caves, inside the ashram, there is a temple which resembles the famous Lord Krishna Somnath Temple in Gujrat State. This temple is known as the Nityananda Bala Mandir which houses a full-size statue of Swami Nityanand in sitting posture. And the statue is made up of "panchaloha" which is a major attraction here.
