This ceremony is conducted every year for the well-being and good health of the elephants. The <strong>Malayalam month of Karkkidakam<\/strong> which is the month of rejuvenation is considered as the most ideal time to conduct <strong>Aanayoottu Festival<\/strong>. <strong>Njangattiri Aanayoottu<\/strong> is one of the famous <strong>Aanayoottu Festival in Kerala<\/strong>, which is held annually at <strong>Njangattiri Bhagavathy Temple<\/strong> in <strong>Pattambi, Palakkad<\/strong> district. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the festival day, the elephants are lined up in a row at the temple premises for the grand feast which is prepared by following the principles of Ayurveda. Swarms of devotees gather at the temple premises to feed the elephant which they believe to be auspicious. After the Mahaganapathi Homam, the feeding ceremony of elephants takes place in which the youngest elephant among the herd will be fed first as per the ritual and tradition.
