Woods and tiles are used to recreate the ‘Nalukettu’<\/strong> and the open-air courtyard is its main highlight. Various kinds of items of the bygone era like Priceless Furniture in Mahogany, Teak, and Sandalwood, Ethnic Jewelry, Exquisite paintings, Spice Bowls, Shields and Swords, Old Musical Instruments, Palmyra Fans, Majestic four Poster Beds, etc, are displayed inside the ‘Nalukettu’ <\/strong>that forms an endearing attraction which reflects an aura of the olden days. The courtyard of the house is decorated with colourful floral decorations known as Pookalam that adds to its beauty. The folk dance forms like Kathakali<\/strong>, Mohiniyattam<\/strong>, Thiruvathirakali<\/strong>, etc, and traditional music festivities are performed in the huge open-air auditorium in the backdrop of the captivating \u2018Nalukettu\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides ‘Nalukettu’<\/strong>, the Kerala Village Fair<\/strong> also\nshowcases a model of Chayakada<\/strong> (village teashops) which offers\nauthentic Kerala Food and Kamalagramam <\/strong>(artisan homesteads)\nwhich displays traditional artefacts of Kerala including jewellery and\nhandicrafts. The traditional Kerala delicacies like Kappa <\/strong>(tapioca) and\nMeen<\/strong> (fish) Curry<\/strong>, Puttu<\/strong> (steamed rice cake) and Kadala<\/strong>\n(chickpeas) curry<\/strong>, Pazhampori <\/strong>(banana fritters), Paripuvada <\/strong>(lentil\nfritters), etc, served at the Chayakada <\/strong>are worth its taste. One can\nalso relish the taste of refreshing chai, tender coconut, lime juice, etc from\nthe Chayakada<\/strong>.
